About Us

Welcome to Austin Windsurf School! We offer a comprehensive range of services including group and private lessons and special classes for kids. Whether you're a local or a visitor, an individual or a family, a beginner or an experienced windsurfer, we have everything you need to embark on an exciting windsurfing adventure.

  • Our Lessons

    • Our lessons are structured to cater to different skill levels and are designed to be as engaging and informative as possible.

  • Beginner Lesson - We Recommend Signing up for Two Classes!

    • Day 1 - Dive into the world of windsurfing with our beginner lessons. You'll learn about the wind clock, how to sail upwind, execute turns, tacks, and even some gybes. Day 2 - Building on the skills from Day 1, you'll learn how to sail downwind, execute gybes and pivot gybes.

  • Intermediate Lesson

    • Ready to take your windsurfing skills to the next level? Our intermediate lessons cover fast tacks, pivot gybe exercises, harnessing, and beach starts.

What To Expect - Classes

Level 1 - Beginner Classes

$100-$189

We offer 6-person beginner classes for all ages — great for kids and adults, no experience required! Our 2-day beginner group classes cover the following:

  • 1. Wind Clock
  • 2. Rigging the equipment
  • 3. Sailing in a straight line
  • 4. Sailing upwind/downwind
  • 5. Tacking turning upwind
  • 6. Gybing turning downwind

Kids Class (13 years old & under): Please call/email for availability if your child is 13 or under!

Note: Water and air have been warm enough to go without a wetsuit. Please provide your own helmet (bike/climbing/whitewater helmets work) and wetsuit booties are recommended (not water shoes/socks).

Level 2 - Intermediate

$100-$180

Level 2 Group Classes are the perfect complement to those who took the Level 1 class or who are looking to take their windsurfing to the next level! Our 2-day intermediate group classes cover the following:

  • 1. Harnessing
  • 2. Fast Tack
  • 3. Pivot Gybes
  • 4. Downwind Sailing Exercise

Depending on class skill this list may vary.

These skills are necessary for advancing with windsurfing and unlocking higher winds!
